How to Write a Resume that Stands Out!

Writing a resume is not a job search and is not the first step. (Learn more about how to create your career strategy here, which is the first step.)  It is, however, a vital piece of the application process and it is crucial that it stands out to employers. 

There are a few simple steps that can help increase the likelihood that your resume will get a closer look.  First up, focus on identifying the needs of the employer and highlight skills and accomplishments the employer is looking for.  Matching the keywords from the industry/job description to your application materials is how to do this.  But wait, there is more!  Spending time to thoughtfully tailor your resume and include strong accomplishment statements with results will increase your interview prospects.
