Multiple career interests? Start here.

It’s normal to have a variety of career interests, especially in an MBA program where you might be learning about business functions that you didn’t have much exposure to in your previous positions. However, prioritizing what you want to do next is key to being able to communicate to potential employers that you have done your research and are serious about the impact you want to make at their company.

Having a clear focus on what you want to do next is an important step because it allows you to use your time more efficiently, signals to employers aligned with that goal that you are serious and committed, and gives you a place to start even if your long-term career goals change.

By reflecting on your past experiences, skills, and values as you did in your Career Blueprint (or CAP) and then researching job roles and organizations that align with your next goal, you will be able to develop a strategy for moving forward with your search. From there, you can begin incorporating your goals into your personal narrative, resume, and cover letter.
