Employee Engagement Coordinator (Onsite)

This is a new position and a great opportunity for someone that is looking for an exciting, transformational internal communication and engagement role. The role will support employee engagement for a large IT organization and local site employees, event planning, and communication writing/presentation design.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to play instrumental roles within the organization including:
• Leading the planning and execution of a whole calendar year of BOTH Raleigh office site and IT-specific department employee events, holiday events, learning and development programs, volunteer opportunities, and more
• Supporting execution of internal IT engagement plan for IT’s 450 employees and carefully planning and coordinating deliverables to enhance the IT employees’ experience – IT department spans across the globe
• Creating visually engaging graphics, templates, and designs to supplement engagement initiatives
• Creating internal employee engagement and communication campaigns including All Hands presentations, email communications, Viva Engage communications, onsite engagement, recognition, and campaigns in a way that inspires and motivates employees
• Supporting local Raleigh site engagement strategy and coordination of end-to end programming of events

This role will report to the IT Manager of IT Strategic Planning and Communications to enable employee engagement, communication, and development for the IT organization and the Gilead Business Services local Raleigh site (Must be onsite in Raleigh).
Essential Duties and Job Functions
This role will be project-based and requires multi-facetted workstreams through various types of work, including:
• Plan and execute year-round calendar of in-person/hybrid events centered around recognition, engagement, volunteer opportunities communications for BOTH Raleigh office site and IT organization
• Create strategy and materials to replicate engagement events across multiple locations that the IT organization spans across – i.e. create a playbook and share marketing materials of holiday events for sites in Europe and California to replicate to create a cohesive and standardize experience across IT
• Produce visually appealing and engaging graphical design elements aligned with Gilead brand guidelines (company social platform posts, email templates, presentations, flyers, digital media, event invites, etc.)
• Create a quarterly or yearly report (magazine format) of engagement events and stats for BOTH Raleigh office site and IT organization
• Enhance existing IT employee onboarding experience and process
• Bolster participation through various communication channels and media such as email, viva engage, social media, videos, etc.
• Coordinate internal communications and events for employees, writing and developing presentations, emails, and posts with minimal supervision
• Project manage initiatives resulting from leadership requests, employee survey action plans, and the overall organization strategy
• Assist with the logistics and operations for IT learning/development/talent programs
• Handle end-to-end coordination tasks for events including purchasing, expense reports, event invites, food ordering, swag, etc.
Knowledge and Skills
• Absolute must have graphic design skills – Canva platform preferred, strong preference for candidates that have or are interested in developing multimedia skills (videos, gifs, etc.)
• Excellent communications skills – immaculate writing and editing skills
• Exceptional presentation creation skills and well-crafted PowerPoint presentations
• Strategic and critical thinker, able to absorb information and connect the dots in planning – anticipates needs by thinking through whole process and situations
• Strong understanding of how to integrate company principles and operational processes into day-to-day activities and behaviors, as needed
• Ability to conceptualize page layouts and create graphics for invites, print or digital assets
• Strong organization and program management skills, including the ability to quickly assist real-time requests
• Strong ability to articulate the big picture with or without details and work in dynamic situation
• Ability to adapt and pivot to constant change and vague situations
