Your Role and Responsibilities
The IBM Global Technology Services (GTS) team is seeking highly talented individuals to fill consultative, client-focused, business to business relationship roles in our Account Leadership Development Program. This position is part of a targeted rotational leadership program aimed at accelerating the development of IBM GTS account professionals and creating a pipeline for our most critical client-facing roles.
In the Account Leadership Development Program, you will actively:
- Help clients of all sizes and markets grow their businesses by solving strategic and tactical business problems with IBM’s proven technology solutions
- Engage client decision-makers to drive alignment and consensus on IBM solutions via social, phone or in-person interactions
- Understand, build, and deliver client value propositions
- Develop and execute long-term consultative strategies to grow current clients and generate new business opportunities
- Collaborate with IBM sales, IT professionals, executive leadership, and other support resources to deliver extraordinary client engagements
- Continuously maintain and grow skills and knowledge in consultative sales, technical solutions, and industry applications
- Apply expertise to demonstrate IBM thought leadership during client engagements
During your time in the Account Leadership Development Program, you will rotate through multiple assignments, work with our account teams, and support our external clients. We provide extraordinary sales, technology, and industry solution training through a combination of classroom and online resources, hands-on experiences, phone sales, and structured mentorship. We will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to make an immediate impact and achieve individual growth as a leader.
You will build skills for account leadership that focus on constructing partnerships between clients, team IBM, vendors, and subcontractor organizations and will manage the implementation of these partnerships to address business opportunities. You will also build a portfolio of skills in the following key general management areas:
- Client relationship management
- Work with account and competency teams to ensure customer satisfaction and growth of customer relationships
- Consultative selling
- Understand clients and their strategy by creating a trusted partnership in support of their requirements and future opportunities
- Financial / business management
- Own and manage the financial objectives for our account teams while improving overall customer satisfaction targets
- Portfolio / program management
- Lead our delivery teams to meet contract performance standards, client measurements and commitments
- Utilize project management methodologies to initialize, plan, execute, control, and monitor projects

- Provide business direction to IBM resources and coordinate client resources to deliver services and solutions to support the client organization
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Conversant and knowledgeable about technology, trends and how technology is being applied to address business challenges
