IBM Security is seeking Security Services Developer Interns for our Security Services group based in Atlanta, GA. You will be responsible for solving problems our clients and security analysts face on a daily basis. This job entails developing creative solutions to solve complex security problems. Interns will work in cross-functional project groups that will support multiple areas of the IBM Security Services and Managed Security Services (MSS) organizations. Each project will require a combination of skill sets that may include software development and engineering, network and security engineering, business analysis andproject management.
What do we look for in a successful Security Services Developer Intern?
- Basic understanding of software development and programming languages
- Actively seeks new knowledge and improves skills
- Thrives on collaboration, working side by side with people of all backgrounds and disciplines, and you have very strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates leadership and adaptability, with willingness to take ownership of any given task or project
- Proficient at solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, designing and implementing solutions to complex technical issues
- Manages time and prioritizes work based on project needs and deadlines
To qualify for this internship, you must be currently enrolled in a 4 year-degree program (related to computer, information technology, cybersecurity, software engineering or something similar) with an accredited institution.
**Please note that local Atlanta conditions may warrant a remote internship. A determination of final location will be made in the Spring of 2022.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Understanding and knowledge of IT Security Fundamentals and general cyber-security concepts
- Basic knowledge of operating systems and how they work (i.e. Operating systems courses); Container technologies; Internet Services; and/or Managed Services
- Basic understanding of user and system requirements
- Basic familiarity with APIs
- Have an interest in, understanding of, or experience with Agile development methodology
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Familiarity with common security vulnerabilities and associated concepts
- Understanding and/or experience with DevOps / DevSecOps practices
- Experience with cloud technologies
- Experience using and developing APIs
- Experience working with servers, applications and databases
- Participation in industry related extra-curricular activities
