JOB SCOPE

Responsible for assisting in the effort to identify network impairments and drive them to resolution in order to provide Charter customers with the best possible customer experience. Work closely with teams within the Network Operations NOC and related engineering teams to support the effort to minimize the frequency and scope of impact during network impairments.

The program is 10 weeks in length and will run from June through August 2021

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively and consistently support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience and improve operational availability and reliability.
  • Works on assignments that will span one or more of the following areas:
  • Network Surveillance
  • Event Management
  • Operations Management
  • Operational Readiness
  • Automation
  • Correlation
  • Reduction of customer calls
  • Reduction of unnecessary technician dispatches
  • Assists in the effort to monitor the Charter network and reduce customer impacting network impairments
  • Assists with the coordination of network changes, deployments, and projects
  • Uses established processes to execute daily responsibilities
  • Identifies areas of opportunity to increase the effectiveness of tools and processes
  • Shadows members of all NOC functions and where possible other local groups to gain a broader understanding of the Charter network and the products offered
  • Perform other duties as assigned

BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and / or related field from an accredited University; Masters’ degree is preferred.
  • Rising Junior (current Sophomore) or above Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required

ADDITIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to grasp technical subjects quickly and good logical and analytical thinking
  • Detail oriented and organized is a must
  • Aptitude and eagerness to learn from a new environment and make an impact quickly
  • Ability to listen to multiple points of view and synthesize against goals for recommendations
  • Self-driven with minimal supervision
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively and independently
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and synthesize recommendations
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, etc)
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Good organizational and office management skills
  • Excellent cognitive and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong business sense and sense of urgency to achieve business results

  • 24×7 Office environment
  • No travel required
