Accountancy Recruitment Timeline!

Fall is the time of year when most accounting firms recruit new hires and offer internships. This is your opportunity to learn more about the firms recruiting, network with professionals, and explore your career options!

Career events including employer panels, information sessions, and “Meet the Firms” begin in August and September. The majority of job applications within Accountancy will be due in August, September, and October. Don’t make the mistake of waiting until spring to apply! Most positions will already be filled, especially if you are interested in public accounting!  Becoming familiar with the recruitment timeline and process will help ensure career success.

Interviews are typically conducted throughout late September and early October. Second-round interviews typically take place during October, with employment offers being made by November. Receiving an offer early will provide you peace of mind and the ability to focus on academics the remainder of the year. Remember that it is expected you cease your employment search upon accepting an offer!

With recruiting for accountancy taking place so early in the year, you’ll need to be ready to participate as soon as the school year begins. Take advantage of our career website and prepare for the upcoming career events that you won’t want to miss. Schedule an appointment with your Career Coach to discuss further.
