  • The Career Navigation Program (CNP) is designed as the core career program for all undergraduate students. Each course provides relevant, curated career instruction. Now that you’ve been introduced to our Career Management Model, you will take WPC 248: Career Narrative Design as a sophomore. The course will help you to identify your soft skills, while creating a personal narrative that has reach and relevance as you engage with potential employers.
    • Executive presence: Understand the Career Management professionalism standards and how to “show up” as a business student in the market
    • Personal narrative: Learn how to tell your story in a relevant and engaging way to potential employers
    • Resume development: Leverage the Career Management resume process to develop a resume that meets market standards
    • LinkedIn and Handshake: Use the components of narrative development to optimize your LinkedIn and Handshake profiles
    • Students learn how to write a resume and cover letter
    • Students are able to explain the thought process that went into their major decision
    • Students will create a LinkedIn profile that is targeted to their career function interest
    • Students are able to introduce themselves by finding an association to the role, industry, or company with something from their background or experience in multiple networking scenarios
    • Students are involved as an active member or elected leader in at least one activity (clubs, volunteer, community service, work, internship, etc.)

Undergraduate students have access to tailored, major-specific career coaching throughout their time at the W. P. Carey School of Business. One-on-one appointments are available with W. P. Carey Career Coaches or MBA Peer Career Coaches, whether you’re attending school 100% online or earning your degree on campus.
