Interested In Consulting? Learn About The Undergraduate Consulting Program

Consultants are business professionals who provide expertise to organizations to help them maximize their profitability or effectiveness.  The W. P. Carey Career Services Center has designed a way for interested undergraduate students to engage in a consulting program, preparing you to explore and enter the consulting market.

Consultants are in the business of knowledge capital and are industry experts. Because of this, the area of management consulting is competitive and preparation to enter the market after business school is crucial.  Consulting generally follows a predictable recruitment timeline at W. P. Carey.  Summer internships are initially found during your first year, either during the fall or spring semester. By sophomore year, you should anticipate a high level of engagement with firms you hope to intern at.  Landing an internship enters you into the pipeline for full-time management consulting positions.

As you begin to explore consulting, networking is critical.  Follow companies of interest on professional social media platforms, favorite and follow target companies on Handshake, and make a profile on target company career websites and sign up for alerts.
