The Compensation Intern will assist in the design, administration, and communication of compensation programs, including base pay, short & long-term incentive pay, sales incentive compensation, job evaluations, compensation surveys, and new compensation programs. The ideal candidate will be an analytical thinker who likes to solve problems, be detail oriented, and is not shy when it comes to spreadsheets and data.
Responsibilities: (In this section, the primary tasks and responsibilities should state the essential function of the job and identify what the incumbent is responsible for performing.
- Support Total Rewards team members with projects relating to the design, administration, analysis, and management of compensation and incentive programs to align with Newell’s Total Rewards objectives.
- Assist with various compensation analysis and benchmarking studies to assess competitive practices.
- Assist with Total Rewards team preparation for annual merit and bonus planning.
- Assist with compensation survey submission and administration.
- Assist with operational and process improvements for the Total Rewards team.
- Other administrative support with various Total Rewards team members (i.e. – relocation, mobility, immigration, etc.)
Qualifications: (State the minimum level of education, certifications, years of experience, and additional qualifications required to perform the job.)
- Actively enrolled in a college/university program with preferred majors in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Finance, or related field
- Strategic agility, flexibility, and sense of urgency in all work
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Strong system and process orientation
- Must have excellent oral and written presentation skills, including presentations to groups.
- Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, problem solving, and conceptual skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with SAP HCM or other Human Capital Management Software preferred.
- Knowledge of Compensation management processes, practices, and methods preferred.
