About the Role:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for staffing, safety, supervision, direction, training, and evaluating their assigned production team within their operating value stream. In this role, you will provide direction and leadership for the site manufacturing teams to exceed the safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement metrics.

Position Summary:
The Value Stream Team Leader is responsible for meeting with Value Stream associates regularly to reflect on problems, solutions, and challenges, thereby creating a culture of continuous improvement. Develop a visually controlled environment to assure no problems are hidden.
Essential Functions:
1. Monitor and follow all safety preventative measures and practices, including 5S+ safety guidelines, while following and meeting standard work requirements
2. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment.
3. Lead the plant value stream(s) in daily operation and continuous improvements, which include but are not limited to: a. Supply chain b. Production control c. Manufacturing priorities d. And coordination between all shifts in the value stream
4. Assist the Value Stream Manager in creating continuous product flow, utilizing pull systems, and leveling the workload
5. Instill and maintain employee empowerment and a positive team atmosphere in the Value Stream(s) by: a. Holding team meetings regularly b. Assigning team members tasks c. And coordinating support activities for departments outside of the team
6. Utilize PDCA in conjunction with Tracking Center and Team Improvement Boards to ensure results
7. Provide effective cross training for Value Stream associates and backups from other value streams to assure continuous smooth running of the value stream
8. Must be able to lead Kaizens
9. Encourage and work with your team to stop and fix problems to get quality right the first time
10. Work the Value Stream Manager to develop the future value stream map and manage the plans to achieve it as documented in the Value Stream Tracking Center
11. Work with the Group Leader and the Value Stream Team to maintain Team Improvement Boards
12. Able to foster professionalism with all associates, along with internal and external customers
Department Specific Non-Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for leading operation of one or more plant value streams
2. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities
3. Capable of creating and maintaining enthusiasm for challenges
4. Must be capable of serving as a model for promoting safety, new ideas, and positive changes
5. Under the direction of the Value Stream Manager, implement the Parker Lean System and Win Strategy, to ensure a safe work environment, push quality improvements, provide customer service, develop a qualified workforce, and to reduce inventories, operating costs, and lead times
6. Oversee day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual expectations and metrics
7. Responsible for developing and leading associates, employment decisions, and performance assessments of an assigned plant value stream(s)
8. Responsible for leading all aspects of the plant value stream(s) under the direction of the Value Stream Manager to include: a. Associate development b. Utilization of team consensus to evaluate decisions c. Ensure rapid implementation of decisions d. Budget development and adherence e. Make employment decisions related to associates and performance assessment of Group Leaders and associates
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree
2. Demonstrated successful leadership required
3. Working with Lean preferred
4. Leading Kaizens preferred
5. 3-5 years in management or supervisor role preferred
6. Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
7. Demonstrated teambuilding skills
8. Sound decision making skills
9. Good math, reading and writing skills
10. Sufficient knowledge in accounting, manufacturing, human resources, and inventory control
